My first topic would be Racism and scientific advancement

In Hidden Figures, All three of the African American women experienced a hard time for being included in new discoveries in science , how does racism play a role in how far African Americans can go further in science ?

Claim: Racism does play a role in how far African Americans can go further in science.

I would use Hidden Figures

I would use a scene from the movie for evidence

My second topic would be Women Scientist being recognized for their work

In Radioactive, Marie had an affair with Paul and ended up taking the fall for it, is a woman’s personal life the overall justification of how good of a scientist she is or discovers she’s made ?

Claim: A woman’s personal life should not view her to be less of a scientist that she is.

I would use Hidden Figures and Radioactive.

The evidence I would use to support is “The steps that you advise seems to me a grave error…..There is no connection between my scientific work and the facts of private life.(Redniss 2010)”

My third topic would be Politics playing a key role in science

How has the in-class assignments, how was politics effect the decision making of science ?

Claim: Politics has a huge effect on science decision making especially for whats best for the “people”.

The evidence that I would use is when we had to look at the presidential debate and talked about how we felt about the countries future presidential election.
